The year 2013 has marked the 150th anniversary of Gabriele d’Annunzio’s birth.
The Foundation has organized many events to pay a tribute to the fervent spirit of a genius who (also thanks to his foresight, international respite and love for Italy) was able to impress the history of our country with a sign of modernity – contributing decisively to the consolidation of its identifying image.
Many Municipalities participated in the celebrations, from Rome to his native Pescara, then Turin, Bologna, Verona, Trento, Genoa, Pisa, the Versilia area and many others. Under the patronage of the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities, Ministry of Economic Development, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Defence, celebrations landed in Tokyo, Lugano, Athens, Krakow, Budapest, Cairo. The Foundation counted upon important collaborations, such as those provided by principal Italian universities, Giorgio Cini Foundation in Venice, Ugo Bordoni Foundation in Rome, Mondadori at the Salone Internazionale del Libro (International Book Fair) in Turin, to La Versiliana Foundation.
